Giga Bridge Coax Extension presented by devolo
devolo has introduced the Giga Bridge Coax, a supplementary adapter for home networks, with which the signal from fiber optic connections can be distributed throughout the house at gigabit speed via coaxial cable and transported to the router. The supplementary adapter thus offers the possibility of supplying more devices with the fastest Internet without additional cabling.
The adapter now presented is intended as a supplement to the Giga Bridge System from devolo already launched in 2019. If the new supplementary adapter is used in addition to the existing bridge system, the Internet signal can be distributed via several coaxial or telephone connections in the house and ultimately output to routers that distribute it further. This makes it possible to supply the house with Internet at gigabit speeds over a particularly wide area. The usable data rate of 1 Gbit per second is distributed over the available coaxial cables.
The advantages of such an approach are obvious. For example, the signal can be distributed throughout the house without additional cabling, which significantly reduces the effort required. WLAN for distributing the signal can also be dispensed with (at least as far as the router), thus avoiding speed losses.
The Giga Bridge Coax Extension adapter now presented adds an adapter with a Gigabit Ethernet port to a home network designed in this way, thus creating new possibilities for integrating devices. devolo promises convenient installation in the process. Thus, the new device should be able to simply connect anywhere where coaxial connections exist – no further installation steps are necessary.
Available immediately, the Giga Bridge Coax Extension supplementary adapter is priced at 129.90 euros. It can be purchased via the manufacturer’s online shop.
